Liverpool Target Zenit Star Striker

Russia international striker Alexander Kerzhakov is a target for Liverpool. The Daily Mail says scouts watched the 27-year-old striker score for Russia against Ireland last week which followed on from hat-tricks for his club Zenit St Petersburg against Anderlecht in the Europa League and against Saturn Moscow in the Russian league. Liverpool have also asked for further video footage of Kerzhakov, who has been in a rich vein of form of late with 11 goals in eight games. He only rejoined Zenit in January after an ill-fated move to Sevilla in 2006 and subsequent switch to Dinamo Moscow. Liverpool would be looking at paying around £6million but the player still has three years left on contract.
