Chelsea Chairman Launches Attack On Liverpool And Joe Cole

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has launched a stunning attack on Liverpool.

Buck took aim at Liverpool after Chelsea lost Joe Cole to the Merseysiders this summer.

The Daily Star Sunday says Buck last night ridiculed Liverpool by declaring: ‘‘Joe Cole has gone to a smallish club somewhere north of the M25.’’

Buck, 59, was writing in yesterday’s Chelsea match programme and his remarks will infuriate Liverpool and their fans. Reds chairman Martin Broughton is actually a Chelsea fan.

England midfielder Cole, 28, moved to Liverpool – England’s most successful club – on a free last month.

Cole’s wife Carly hit back last night. She wrote on Twitter: “I’m utterly astounded to hear what Bruce Buck put in today’s Chelsea programme! I’ll have you know he’s gone to a great team who love him and USE him.”
