Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler
remains a target for Liverpool.
The News of the World says Reds
boss Roy Hodgson wanted 26-
year-old Inler during the summer
but lacked the finances to
complete an £8m deal to bring
the player in from Udinese.
It's hoped funds from an Anfield
takeover will be available in
January, but Hodgson is still
looking to cull his squad to raise
cash.
Tough-tackling Inler is also a
target for Inter Milan, although
San Siro boss Rafa Benitez has
his eye on former favourite Lucas
who he tried to sign on loan on
deadline day.
