Former Aston Villa boss Martin
O'Neill is believed to be set to
make a return to management,
replacing Roy Hodgson at the
Liverpool helm.
The Ulsterman left his post at the
Birmingham-based club only five
days prior to the start of the
season, following a
disagreement with owner Randy
Lerner.
In the meantime, the Reds have
had a difficult start to the
Premier League season as they
have only one victory from five
games, currently sitting on the
16th position in the standings.
The club has also been up for
sale for some time now, and now
the Daily Star claims that two of
the consortiums that are
interested in acquiring the club
are also interested in bringing
O'Neill to Anfield, should their
efforts to takeover the club reach
fruition.
It is said that the potential buyers
see the former Celtic boss as a
better option when compared to
current boss Roy Hodgson, who
only took the reins to the club
during the summer.
