Souness: Worst Time To Manage Liverpool

Liverpool icon Graeme Souness believes the current Liverpool predicament is the worst period in the club 's history labeling Roy Hodgson's job the toughest since Bill Shankly took over at Anfield. Liverpool recorded their third defeat of the season against Blackpool at Anfield yesterday with the club currently sitting third from bottom in the relegation zone. Fans left Anfield yesterday evening chanting for the last man to win the League Championship at Liverpool Kenny Dalglish to take over at the club. Souness who managed and played for Liverpool believes Hodgson has a monumental task ahead of him this season: Graeme Souness told Sky Sports: "This is the most difficult period in Liverpool's modern history. Roy Hodgson has a great track record as a coach wherever he's been but I think he's taken over at Liverpool at a hard time. "He probably has the hardest job of any Liverpool manager since Bill Shankly. I think he will get time because the Liverpool supporters always give the manager time but it's a monster job."
