Fiorentina have confirmed Emiliano Insua's move from Liverpool has fallen through.
As revealed by skysports.com last weekend the proposed deal to take Insua to the Artemio Franchi broke down because personal terms could not be agreed.Liverpool and Fiorentina agreed a fee for the full-back last month and a deal was expected to be completed with new Reds boss Roy Hodgson looking to bring in a new left-back.
With Insua refusing to compromise on his personal demands, Fiorentina have confirmed the deal is off.
"Insua is not coming," said Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino.
"He had high economic demands.
"I was in talks with the sporting director at Liverpool, who is our guest
here, until two this morning.
"At the end we decided to give up on Insua, who will remain in England.
"The player would have entered into Fiorentina's technical and financial
plans, but we couldn't reach an agreement with the player.
"Today, the deal can be considered finished."
The news is a blow for Liverpool as Hodgson had planned to use some of the funds from Insua's exit for his own transfer plans.
