Liverpool fullback Fabio Aurelio says a top four finish must be their minimum target this season.
The Reds made an impressive start to the league season at the weekend, drawing with Arsenal while playing half the game with 10 men, and the Brazilian hopes the team can keep picking up enough points to finish in the top four.
"It is difficult to put a target on it (what the team can achieve this season) but Liverpool is a team that should be in the Champions League, so first of all I think the top four is the main thing we should aim for," he told LFC Weekly.
"I'm not saying that we won't fight for the championship but Liverpool has to be in the top four so if we can make sure we are there to start with, it will be easier to fight for the title. Starting from the first game against Arsenal, we have to keep adding points to the count and then we can see where we are in February and March and what we can fight for.
"Every game is important and every game has the same value of three points so we have to face them all in the same way."
