Torres To Undergo Groin Inury Scan

FERNANDO TORRES will have a
scan this afternoon to determine
the extent of his groin injury.
The Liverpool striker was at
Melwood on Monday morning to
have the problem assessed and
the initial diagnosis is that it is a
strain rather than a tear.
After the scan has taken place a
decision will be made about
whether Torres links up with the
Spain squad for their Euro 2012
qualifier against Lithuania on
Friday night.
Torres limped off after just 10
minutes of yesterday's 2-1 defeat
against Blackpool at Anfield.
Boss Roy Hodgson said: “He has
a groin strain, but I don't know
how severe it is.
“It happened early in the game
which came as a surprise to us.”
