NESV Set To Convince Tores, Gerrard To Stay

NESV chiefs will seek out senior Liverpool players to detail their future plans.

The Americans know the likes of Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres have become unsettled by the Tom Hicks-George Gillett regime.

One person close to the deal told the Mirror that the Red Sox' owners are "keen to make clear how much they value key personnel at the club. They understand perfectly that a successful business is based on winning, and for that they need to keep key personnel.

"There is a desire to talk directly to important figures as soon as is practically possible, and it would have already happened if the deal had not been held up by the legal wranglings."
