Liverpool Set To Bid For N'Zogbia

Liverpool are preparing a January swoop for Wigan's Charles N'Zogbia with Roy Hodgson said to be ready to offer £12m for the Frenchman. The forward almost joined Birmingham City in the summer for £9m and will be sold by Latics if a club comes up with the right amount of money in the new year. The latest reports suggest Liverpool are very keen on the former Newcastle man and are preparing a £12m bid with boss Hodgson set to be given significant funds to improve his squad from new owners NESV. The 24-year-old has scored three times already this season and is likely to be wanted by several other clubs in January, despite Wigan boss Roberto Martinez insisting he wants N'Zogbia to stay. Martinez said: "Charles' value will go up because he is only 24 and playing for the national team. "But he's someone we don't want to lose. "Last season Charles took his ability to another level, and this season he has carried on. He's improved a lot."
