Glen: We Will Be Through The Storm

Glen Johnson insists no one is panicking in the Liverpool dressing room despite a difficult start to the campaign. The Reds have collected six points from their opening seven Barclays Premier League encounters and find themselves five points adrift of the top four. Johnson, however, is issuing a 'guarantee' that Liverpool will soon be climbing up the table. "Sometimes, even after a few games, people see you down there and are ready to pass out," he said. "But I can guarantee that at the end of the season we won't be sitting there. You have to consider the fact that everybody else is dropping points. "The so-called lesser teams are not so much less and it means that the league is becoming more competitive. "I know people don't really care about excuses but we're not panicking. There is a lot more to come. "Not many points separate us from fourth so a couple of good performances and good wins will put us in a decent position for the season ahead."
Johnson, currently on England duty ahead of their Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro next Tuesday, believes new signing Raul Meireles will be crucial to any revival of fortunes. "He looks a very good player - the kind we need," added the 26-year-old. "He gives different ideas and movement and opens up defences. "He's settled really quickly but generally when a new boss and new players come in it means it's going to take time for everything to settle down. "It would have been silly for us at the start of the season to say we were going to go the season unbeaten and win everything before us because that just isn't football."
