Bundesliga giants Bayern
Munich are set to make a
January bid for Liverpool
goalkeeper Pepe Reina
according to the Daily Mail.
The 28-year old stopper is rated
as one of the best goalkeepers in
the world and has been one of
Liverpool ’s most consistent
performers since arriving at the
club in 2005.
Bayern’s first choice ‘keeper is
currently 36-year old Hans Jorg
Butt, but the Bavarian giants are
believed to be in the market for a
goalkeeper and are thought to
have attempted to sign German
international keeper Manuel
Neuer from Schalke in the
summer.
Like his compatriot Fernando
Torres, Reina is said to be
unhappy at the poor start the
Reds have made to the season
and could be tempted to move
on either in January or at the end
of the season, particularly if
Liverpool fail to qualify for the
Champions League for a second
successive season.
Bayern are rumoured to be
preparing a bid in the region of
£17million for Reina, who is
under contract at Anfield until
2016.
