Aldridge: Testimonial Perfect Tribute To Carra The Legend

IT WAS a brilliant day at Anfield
on Saturday and I was absolutely
delighted for Jamie Carragher.
Carra is a great ambassador for
our city and he fully deserved
such a fantastic testimonial.
He achieved his goal of raising
£1million for local charities and
that ’s a wonderful achievement.
The turnout from fans and
players highlights the high
esteem he ’s held in.
Fair play to Michael Owen for
turning out to support his best
mate. It won ’t have been easy for
him and it took some guts.
I know he’s a Manchester United
player now but we shouldn’t
forget what Owen did for the
club. The fans showed some
respect for him which was nice
to see.
Carra still has a lot of football left
in him and hopefully he will get
his new contract sorted soon as
because he deserves it.
But when he does call it a day I
hope he remains involved at
Liverpool. He is the type of
person we need to have around
the club.
Management is a long way down
the road but if Carra was to stay
on in a coaching capacity it
would be like the old days with
the boot room, with him learning
the ropes and building up
experience.
The likes of Carra and Steven
Gerrard are worth their weight
in gold. Their hearts lies at the
club and they have so much to
offer.
