Hodgson To Land Either Konchesky Or Salcido To Anfield

PSV Eindhoven fullback Carlos Salcido is wanted by Liverpool.

The News of the World says Roy Hodgson will move for Salcido if he fails to land Paul Konchesky.

The Liverpool boss remains hopeful of signing the Fulham defender but has the Mexico international up his sleeve as a back-up plan.

Salcido, 30, has 77 caps for his country and has twice won the Eredivisie title since arriving in Holland from Mexican side Guadalajara in 2006.

Hodgson needs an experienced first choice left-back despite re-signing Fabio Aurelio following his release from Anfield at the end of last season.
