Joe Cole believes Liverpool are ready for the challenge that awaits them when they take on Manchester City at Eastlands on Monday.
Whilst he admits that the pre-season schedule has been somewhat 'disjointed', the No.10 asserts that now that the campaign is under way and the new players have been able to adjust to life at Melwood, the improvements are there for all to see.
"We are getting fitter and fitter. The players are looking better every day," he said.
"I'll be cheering the lads on and I think we'll do a good job. We are ready, we are getting stronger.
"We are going there full of confidence after holding Arsenal to a draw."
