Brad Jones is expected finalise his dream move to Anfield in the next few days after Liverpool finally reached an agreement with Middlesbrough.
Roy Hodgson saw a £2million bid for the Australian goalkeeper rejected last week but reports in the North East indicate that 'significant progress' was made over the weekend to the point that he cleared out his locker at the club's Rockcliffe Park training ground.
Jones, 28, was suspended for Boro's 2-1 defeat to Ipswich on Saturday and officials at the Riverside Stadium have now accepted that he will not play for the club again as they prepare to approach Crystal Palace in a bid to install Julian Speroni as his successor.
Hodgson is keen to add Jones to his ranks in a bid to provide a suitable understudy for Pepe Reina as well as bolstering Liverpool's ranks ahead of the new campaigh, with the stopper eligible for the Premier League's new 'home-grown' quota.
