Salcido Close To Liverpool move

Roy Hodgson is set to end his left back problem by bringing in Carlos Salcido from PSV Eindhoven for a fee of around £3m.

Liverpool's need for a left back has increased with the departures of both Emiliano Insua and Fabio Aurelio from the club but they will not have it all their own way in the pursuit of the 30-year-old.
Valencia and Wigan have both been linked with the player and the Latics want him to replace their own left-back Maynor Figueroa, who has ironically been linked with a move to Anfield.
