Reason Two: The Pathetic Gilett And Hicks Saga Rolls On

Is the club really up for sale?
Even Roy Hodgson's former club Blackburn Rovers was declared up for sale a few years back. Things really haven't changed much for them and even until very recently there have been only rumors.
Liverpool though have been put up for sale a few months back and is a much more attractive proposition as compared to the Rovers as of now. However, all there has been to the sale process have been the disclosure of the process of sale e.g., Barclays overlooking the sales process with Martin Broughton in charge as a non-executive chairman.
Therein ends the story.
Week in week out there have been rumors about interest from all over the world but nothing concrete.
Broughton came up with his latest comments regarding the sales in June when he said the club would be getting the first phase accepting offers underway by mid-July. Only God and they seem to know what happened consequently!
Clearly under the Hicks and Gillett regime it is not possible to see the club invest in the transfer market in a big way as is desired by the club and players like Torres.

So because he is not buying the logic put forward by the management of mere wait and watch as has been prevalent for quite sometime now, Torres may believe quitting the club now would be the best way to go about things.
