Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has reportedly declared an interest in Ghana's World Cup star Asamoah Gyan.
The Rennes striker, who enjoyed a successful tournament in South Africa despite missing a last minute penalty in the quarter-finals, is valued at £20million.
Reds boss Hodgson is keen to make his mark on the squad at Anfield after moving from Fulham earlier this month.
However, any move for Gyan would again raise doubts over the future of unsettled striker Fernando Torres, who has been linked with a big money move to either Manchester City or Chelsea.
