After Lyon Its Arsenal's Turn To Join In Remy War

The remarkable war to sign Nice forward Loic Remy may be about to step up to a new level as Le Parisien reports that Arsenal are interested in making a late tilt for the striker.

Remy has already attracted considerable interest from several English Premier League sides including Liverpool and West Ham United, both of whom have reportedly been on the verge of signing the former Olympique Lyonnais youth over the course of the last week. Despite the Hammers tabling a bid reportedly in the region of €13.5 million [£10.8m], no deal has been concluded and the door has been left ajar for the Gunners.

On Wednesday, Partick Governatori, the chief executive of les Aiglons, confessed that his club are ready to meet an offer placed on the table by West Ham, meaning that Arsenal will have to act fast if they are to capture the one-time capped 23-year-old.

According to the French press, Remy is not especially taken to the prospect of joining the Hammers and it is suggested that if the Gunners place a bid that is accepted, he would much prefer to play for the Emirates club.

Though Marouane Chamakh has already been added to the forward line of Arsene Wenger’s side, Eduardo was offloaded earlier in the week, potentially creating an open spot in the striking roster that Remy, who has previously been compared to Arsenal great Thierry Henry, would happily fill.
