Milan-based Sportmediaset says Danish defender Daniel Agger, the right-back Glen Johnson and Brazilian midfielder Lucas are all on the shopping list of Benitez.
With Douglas Maicon to be sold to Real Madrid for £30 million, sources say Inter will use every penny from that deal to bid for the Reds trio.
Johnson would arrive as a direct replacement for Maicon, while Agger is seen as a long-term successor for Marco Materazzi and Lucas is a favourite of Benitez.
