Ngog Ready To Fire For Liverpool

David Ngog today revealed his desire to impress Roy Hodgson and show his new manager he is a player he can rely on over the coming campaign.
The French striker admits he was thrilled to learn of the news that Fernando Torres has reaffirmed his commitment to the club, and he's now looking forward to the opportunity to prove he's an able back-up option to our lethal number nine.
"You are always under pressure every day at a big club like Liverpool but I don't mind that and I want to do my best for this team," Ngog told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"You have to be ready for every game and when you get the chance you have to show your quality and take it.
"It was fantastic to see Fernando say he's staying at Liverpool. He and Steven Gerrard are very important to us and they give the team a lot of confidence."
Liverpool's No.24 got the Hodgson era at Anfield off to a cracking start in Macedonia last week when he netted both goals in the 2-0 win over FK Rabotnicki.

With El Nino only just back in training this week, Ngog seems certain to lead the attack in tonight's second leg at Anfield, and he admits last week's display has given him a lot of confidence.
"It is always a good feeling for a striker when you score goals but the most important thing for us was to win the game which gave us a lot of confidence," he added.
"We had a lot of young players in the team and they did really well. They have been working hard in training and they showed they can do a good job for the team so it was a good feeling for everyone.
"Martin Kelly played very well and he set up a goal for me with a great cross. He is a player with quality and hopefully he can have a good future here.
"We will try our best to put on a good performance for our supporters in the first home game of the season. I think it's important to start well at Anfield.
"We have to be careful and not think the game is won, because we have another 90 minutes to play, and hopefully we can get the job done and qualify for the next round."
