An 86th minute goal from
Maxi Rodriguez gave Liverpool
a 1-0 win over Bolton at the
Reebok Stadium.
The Argentinian latched onto a
brilliant Fernando Torres
backheel to drive the ball past
Jussi Jaaskelainen from close
range.
The win gives Roy Hodgson's
men back-to-back wins for the
first time this season, and lifts
The Reds out of the relegation
zone.
In fact, the result sees Liverpool
leap to 12th in the Premier
League table, just three points
behind fifth-place Tottenham
and five behind Manchester City
in fourth.
Bolton can count themselves
unlucky to not get a point, with
Jamie Carragher fortunate not to
be penalised for handball in the
area as he attempted to block a
Stuart Holden cross.
Fernando Torres missed two
first-half chances to open the
scoring, while Steven Gerrard
saw a shot arrow wide, whilst
Holden had a volley well saved
by Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe
Reina.
There was some bad news for
The Reds though, as Liverpool
lost Joe Cole to a hamstring
injury that could see him
miss Thursday's Europa League
meeting with Napoli and the visit
of Chelsea to Anfield on Sunday.
