Injury Update: Groin Injury Returns For Torres

Roy Hodgson has revealed that Fernando Torres suffered a groin strain during Liverpool's 2-1 defeat at home to Blackpool on Sunday afternoon. The Spaniard was replaced by David Ngog after just 10 minutes of the clash with the Tangerines and the boss admitted he was still awaiting news of how long the striker could be on the sidelines. Hodgson told his post-match press conference: "He has a groin strain, but I don't know how severe it is. "They (the medical team) are assessing it at the moment. It happened early in the game which came as a surprise to us. "We were not aware of any problems with the groin. I don't know if it happened during the course of the game when he stretched for the ball. I don't really know."
