Liverpool have sold Damien Plessis to Greek outfit Panathinaikos for an undisclosed fee, while Nabil El Zhar has been loaned to PAOK.
Plessis, 22, moves to the Trifylli after failing to break into Roy Hodgson's first-team plans. The Frenchman arrived at Anfield from Lyon in the summer of 2007 but failed to force his way into the Reds midfield, featuring just eight times and scoring one goal. Meanwhile, winger El Zhar has joined PAOK Thessaloniki on a season-long loan. The Morocco international was only a bit-part player under Rafa Benitez, arriving on Merseyside from St Etienne in 2006 but playing only 32 times. El Zhar, 24, has not featured at all for Hodgson since he took over. Reserve team midfielder Vincent Weijl has completed a transfer to SD Eibar.
