Liverpool Chasing Two Wonderboys

Reports from Spain and
Switzerland suggest that
Liverpool are looking at both
Athletic Bilbao ’s 17 year old Inigo
Ruiz de Galarreta and Basel’s 18
year old Swiss international
Xherdan Shaqiri. According to
Basque sources, Galaretta is
interesting the Reds (most
probably at the behest of Chief
Scout Eduardo Macia) but it has
also emerged that Barcelona and
Arsenal are interested in the
young prospect. Shaqiri, on the
other hand, who scored a
spectacular goal against England
recently, is valued by Basel at
£8million and is also interesting
Inter Milan and Barca. Roy
Hodgson’s Swiss connections
could however get Liverpool the
inside track and the fact that his
contract expires next June means
he could be available on a
Bosman next summer.
