Kuyt Sidelined For Several Weeks

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has
picked up a shoulder injury
during training with the
Netherlands, according to
Dutch boss Bert van Marwijk.
Van Marwijk claimed the player
had "strained and possibly torn
ligaments in his shoulder" after
falling awkwardly at the ADO Den
Hague stadium.
Kuyt, 30, is out of Tuesday's Euro
2012 qualifier with Finland,
although the extent of the
damage is not yet clear.
A Liverpool spokesman would
not comment as Kuyt was on
international duty.
The Dutchman scored from the
penalty spot in the Netherlands'
5-0 victory over San Marino in
their opening Group E match on
Friday, but his only goal for
Liverpool so far this season came
in the 2-1 win at Trabzonspor in
the Uefa Cup.
He had been linked with a move
to Inter Milan, managed by old
boss Rafael Benitez, but after the
Trabzonspor game the striker
pledged his future to the Reds.
Kuyt said: "As far as I know my
future is at Liverpool.
"I have had a great time here so
far and hope my future here will
be great as well and that I can
win trophies with Liverpool."
