Liverpool captain Steven
Gerrard says that Manchester
United defender John O'Shea
should have been sent off
during Sunday's pulsating clash
between the two sides at Old
Trafford.
Gerrard scored two goals to
cancel out Manchester United 's
lead. His second strike, a free-
kick, emanated from a foul by
John O'Shea on Liverpool striker
Fernando Torres .
While Manchester United boss Sir
Alex Ferguson accused Torres of
making a meal of the foul,
Gerrard believes that O'Shea was
lucky to stay on the pitch.
Gerrard bemoaned Liverpool's
luck, saying "You need the big
decisions in the big games to go
for you and I think the referee
got it wrong.
"If he gives the foul, then he has
to give the red card. But it's ifs
and buts, isn't it? We just have to
make sure we move on quickly."
