Danny Wilson is desperate to get
his Liverpool career off and
running when Northampton visit
Anfield on Wednesday night.
The teenage defender signed
from Scottish champions
Rangers in the summer and
could be in line to make his Reds
debut in the Carling Cup third-
round clash.
Wilson said: 'To start a game for
the first time would be special
and I just hope the manager
thinks I am ready. If not I will
work even harder to try and
make it happen.
'I was an unused substitute
against Rabotnicki in our first
home game of the season and
the crowd were buzzing and
there was a great atmosphere,
so to play for the first time is
something I am really looking
forward to.
'I had never been to Anfield
before that and I really enjoyed
being part of it. It was good to
see how the crowd reacts and
get behind the team. That would
be fantastic to get to Wembley.
'We have just got to take it one
step at a time. There are no easy
ties as cup football is a one off.
'Sometimes it's tough playing
against a team from a lower
league because this is their cup
final and they are out to impress,
and you know they will put
everything into the game.
'We won't take our foot off the
gas as we know complacency
can sometimes kick in.'
