On the move? Mascherano is not in the squad for tonight's game against City

Javier Mascherano is missing from Liverpool's squad to face Manchester City tonight after Barcelona made their move to sign him.
The Spanish giants are believed to have offered £12million plus former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb.
The Argentina captain is desperate to quit Anfield after their failure to qualify for the Champions League last season and he is excited by the chance to move to Spain.

Mascherano has not been included in the match day squad to face City at Eastlands.

His absence is not believed to be down to the injury that kept him out of Tuesday's Europa League victory over Trabzonspor.

Roy Hodgson wants to keep him at Liverpool as they attempt to seal a return to the top four in this campaign.

But the latest developments suggest Mascherano is almost certain to have played his last game in the famous shirt.
