Espanyol hope to persuade cash-strapped Liverpool to part with Argentina winger Maxi Rodriguez. The 29-year-old has three years left on his Anfield deal and only joined the Merseysiders from Atletico Madrid in January. Collector's item? Daily sports paper El Mundo Deportivo believes Liverpool could be prepared to let go of Rodriguez, but the Spanish side's reluctance to pay a transfer fee couldbe a stumbling block. Espanyol would prefer an initial loan deal with an option to make himon a permanent signing at the end of the season.
