Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson will today tie up a £2.25million deal for Middlesbrough keeper Brad Jones.
Jones has been on his way to Anfield for a fortnight - as first revealed by Football Spy - but was held up by wrangles over the method of payment. That has now been sorted out, paving the way for the move.
Jones - who has two Australia caps - was desperate for the transfer to go ahead and kept himself out of the Boro side for the Carling Cup to ensure he was eligible for a competition in which he is likely to figure.
Hodgson wants cover for Pepe Reina, and Jones also qualifies as "home grown", which will help as he juggles his squad list for the season.
Hodgson may let Danny Pacheco go on a season-long loan to La Liga new boys Levante.
The Spain Under-19 striker made his first start for Liverpool in the Europa League win over Rabotnicki at Anfield.
Hodgson would be happy to keep him, but Levante, who hail from Valencia, are offering regular football.
