Liverpool Postpone Board Meeting Due To Lack Of Formal Bids

The Liverpool chairman, Martin Broughton, will not meet with his fellow board members formally this week.
Liverpool have postponed their board meeting to discuss the potential takeover of the club because no formal offer has been put to the club, according to reports.
The five-member board was due to meet this week as speculation grows about a takeover but doubts surrounding the credibility of the potential buyers persist.
The delay throws into doubt the likelihood of any takeover being completed before the end of the transfer window. The Royal Bank of Scotland's deadline for refinancing of 6 October looms for Anfield.
The Daily Telegraph quoted a source who said it would have been "premature" for the board to meet this week, inferring the club had not received any formal offer.
