Konchesky Close To Seal Liverpool Deal
Liverpool's search for a left-back may well end with Fulham man Paul Konchesky brought to Anfield.Though the Reds have resigned Fabio Aurelio and Emiliano Insua remains on the payroll despite interest from Italian clubs Roy Hodgson has made the capture of a left sided defender. An understanding that players from the West London outfit would not be approached when Hodgson left Fulham does not preclude bids being placed and accepted should valuations are met.The 29-year-old Konchesky who previously played for West Ham United has 12 months remaining on his current deal and was omitted from Mark Hughes' squad for the Carling Cup match with Port Vale.£3 million is thought to be the amount on offer. In a twist of events another target, PSV Eindhoven's Carlos Salcido could end up at craven cottage.
