Alberto Aquilani is being offered an escape route form Liverpool by a host of Serie A clubs.
The £20m midfielder was Rafael Benitez’s last big money signing for Liverpool but the player has struggled with injuries since his arrival while a dip in the team’s form and a change of manager have made it even more difficult to settle into first team action.
New boss Roy Hodgson has now confirmed that the former Roma man is not in his immediate plans and feels all parties would be best served by a loan move back to his native country.
Napoli have been linked to the midfielder though that suggestion was dismissed by his agent Franco Zavaglia only yesterday though that might change after Hodgson’s comments last night.
Juventus though seem the likeliest destination given their higher profile and they are tipped to move imminently for the player after they seal the signing of Milos Krasoic from CSKA Moscow.
