Hodgson Planning Triple Swoop With Masch Money

Swedish striker Ola Toivonen could be on his way to Anfield after Roy Hodgson watched him play against Scotland last week. The PSV man can play in attacking midfield or as a forward and would provide good back-up for Fernando Torres.

Fulham defender Paul Konchesky is expected to join Roy Hodgson at Anfield before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, according to FansFC. Konchesky missed his sides opening game of the season against Bolton, with Mark Hughes insisting the player was not fit enough to participate. (A Different League)

Liverpool are readying a bid for Dynamo Kiev striker Artem Milevskiy, according to reports.

Roy Hodgson is reportedly looking to bolster his strikeforce, despite having Fernando Torres commit to the club and David N’Gog show some promising recent form.

West Ham’s Carlton Cole and PSV Eindhoven’s Swedish frontman Ola Toivonen have both been linked with a move to Anfield but Milevskiy has also caught Hodgson’s eye.

We are getting linked with moves for a great many players as we near the closing of the transfer window and once again its strikers that take price of place in a hive of rumour mill activity. We weren’t that great of a force against Arsenal on Sunday but luckily one good connection and fizzing finish from David Ngog was almost enough to clinch all three points.

Ola Toivonen has had explosive start to the new Eredivisie season, netting five goals in the first two games and also netted against Scotland in midweek to boot. He looks a good enough player but apparently PSV want £10m for his services, which seems a bit steep. The 24 year old is an adaptable player though so I can see Roy Hodgson toying with a move for his services.

Less likely for me is the move for Artem Milevskiy who seems to have only been linked with a move to the club by his agent, a certain Dennis Lachter who represents Andrei Arshavin as well and led a merry dance during his protracted move to the Emirates. He is a big lad but not sure we would go for him to be honest.

Last, but not least, is yet more supposed interest in Paul Konchesky and it seems there be some meat to that story and it would be a decent, if not spectacular, signing and a player Mark Hughes is apparently open to selling. He wouldn’t cost much and has bags of experience.
