Danny Wilson believes he's already reaping the benefits of working alongside Jamie Carragher on a daily basis at Melwood.
"Davie Weir was a massive influence on me at Rangers," said Wilson. "I have only been at Liverpool for a wee while now and I feel, watching Carragher, I can learn a lot from him.
"There's a lot of things I have learnt already that I maybe didn't have before. I'm adding things all the time."
Since moving south of the border, Wilson has enjoyed a 45-minute run out in a pre-season friendly with Borussia Moenchengladbach, while he was also on the bench for last week's Europa League tie with FK Rabotnicki at Anfield.
Wilson added: "I've been on the bench for the Europa League game last week, and that's the only competitive game I could have been involved in.
"Then I played 45 minutes in the friendly at Moenchengladbach so I was happy with that.
"People say I'm maybe not going to get the game time I would have at Rangers. But I would have faced the same problem there with Webster coming back.
"Rangers have the luxury of good centre-halves as well so I find myself in no different position and I feel it's better because I can learn from more top-quality players.
"I'm just happy to get game time whenever I can and hopefully it's sooner rather than later."
Wilson made his first appearance for Scotland U21s in a draw with Sweden in midweek - and while undoubtedly a proud moment, the defender is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.
"It was my first full 90 minutes in about four months," he said.
"The last U21 game I was on the bench and didn't get on. So it was nice to get on the pitch and to represent my country again.
"I have always been taught not to get too ahead of myself. Some people do that for me.
"All I can do is play for the team I get picked for. It's not for me to say. My main aim now, because I can't play for the U19s, is to play for this team."
