Gerrard ended intense speculation over his future by reaffirming his commitment to the club in a statement last month.
The 30-year-old was being tracked by a number of suitors – most notably Real Madrid and Manchester City – hopeful of capitalising on the uncertainty prompted by upheaval both on and off the field at Liverpool during the summer.
While Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is confident Torres is looking forward to the new season Anfield, the striker – who returns to Melwood this morning having enjoyed an extended break following his World Cup exploits – has yet to publicly comment on his position.
And Carragher wants his Spanish team-mate to quash rumours of a possible departure while highlighting the impact of Gerrard’s decision to remain at Anfield.
“Hopefully Fernando will do the same and we can bring one or two more in so that we head into the season with a real feel-good factor.”
