Breaking News: Torres Set To Stay at Liverpool

Fernando Torres - set for Liverpool stay

Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Fernando Torres intends to stay at Liverpool and will return to training after his holiday.

The Spaniard’s future has been under the microscope all summer after he was linked to Chelsea, Manchester City and Inter Milan.
However, Hodgson has confirmed he has spoken to Torres, who will join the Reds back in training on Monday.
“Fernando is having a holiday, a well-earned holiday, it’s his first for three years,” said Hodgson.
“He is looking forward to coming back here.
“He has told us that he is looking forward to getting back to work and playing for Liverpool next season, so some reports I would suggest are erroneous.”
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti cooled speculation last week insisting that the Stamford Bridge club “didn’t need another striker” and City manager Roberto Mancini has also played down talk of a bid.
“Torres is one of the best strikers in Europe and is already playing in the Premier League for three years and knows it very well,” said Mancini.
“But it depends on his situation – his price and whether he wants to come.”
