Liverpool completed the signing of highly-rated Scot Danny Wilson on Wednesday afternoon - but what do you know about our new defender?
1) Wilson was born on December 27, 1991 and shares a birthday with Lost actress Emilie de Ravin and Blackburn midfielder David Dunn.
2) In October 2009 he became the youngest ever Scottish player to feature in the Champions League. At the age of 17 years, 312 days, he played the full 90 minutes of Rangers' 1-1 draw in Unirea Urziceni. He was booked on 77 minutes for 'unsporting behaviour'.
3) Liverpool's reserve team starlet - and fellow Scot - Alex Cooper has already given the thumbs up to the recruitment of Wilson. "I haven't spoken to Danny recently but I rate him very highly and think he'd do very well at Liverpool," said Coops. "It won't surprise me if he starts challenging for a place in the first team."
4) Wilson has already been tipped to captain Scotland by his old Rangers teammates. "He started training with the first team at 16 and looked as though he had been playing with us for six years," said Nacho Novo. "He could be a Scotland captain of the future. Why not? He will definitely become one of the best centre-halves in Britain."
5) Wilson may find it hard to top his debut season with Rangers. In 2009-10 he not only won the domestic treble but also landed the Scottish FWA and PFA Young Player of the Year awards.
6) Prior to breaking into the Rangers first team, one of Danny's daily duties was to clean manager Walter Smith's boots! He once said in an interview: "Little things changed when I moved up from the youths to the first-team - but not everything. I'm still meant to clean the gaffer's boots but haven't actually done it for a while."
7) Wilson's astute reading of the game and composure on the ball has already led to comparisons with Reds great Alan Hansen.
8) He scored just one goal during his time at Ibrox. The solitary strike came in a 4-1 win at Hearts in March 2010.
9) Danny credits veteran defender David Weir and his wise words as major factor in his superb run-in to the 2009-10 campaign. "Davie is not only a great footballer and a great professional, he's a great guy off the pitch," he added. "It's nice to have somebody who's willing to take the time just to have a conversation with you."
10) The defender claims to have turned down sides in next season's Champions League to become a part of Roy Hodgson's new-look Liverpool.
