New Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson will move for Wigan’s Maynor Figueroa – if he can sell Emiliano Insua for £5million.
Fiorentina are ready to meet Hodgson’s asking price for the left back and that will be spent on direct replacement Figueroa.
Insua had a torrid time at Anfield last season, where he was often exposed by a lack of defensive support down his flank. His confidence crumbled after he lost his place in the Argentina side and then eventually suffered the same fate at Liverpool.
But Fiorentina are ready to gamble on the young South American and the Italian side have been told they can have him for £5m.
