Liverpool Delegation On Way To Madrid To Meet Torres

Liverpool are sending out a delegation to Madrid to meet up with Fernando Torres.
Torres was due to have a scan on Tuesday after pulling up with an adductor injury in the closing stages of Spain's World Cup final victory on Sunday. The 26-year-old looked in clear discomfort at the time but Liverpool are positive having spoken to Spanish training staff.
The club's newly-appointed head of sports medicine and sports science Peter Brukner told LFC TV: "It certainly looked like it might have been bad but it seems not too bad."
He added: "He certainly walked up the steps to receive his medal without too many problems, so we are optimistic it is not going to be too bad.
"But really we can't say too much until we have had him properly assessed."
Members of the Liverpool medical staff are now to fly out to Spain to meet Torres, who is beginning an extended break following the World Cup.
Torres had a disappointing tournament in South Africa from a personal point of view, failing to score and losing his starting place for the semi-final and final.
