Latest Rumour: Paul Scharner Linked With A Move TO Anfield

The latest rumours are that Roy Hodgson is lining up a move for Paul Scharner, who is available on a free transfer after he decided not to extend his Wigan contract. Scharner, who can play in defence of midfield, is believed to prefer a stay in the Premier League with Aston Villa also rumoured to be after the Austrian.

Roy was interested in signing Scharner when he was the Boss of Fulham so it's most likely that these rumours have come about purely because of that previous interest.

I wouldn't have thought that many Liverpool supporters would be overly enthused hearing Scharner's name linked with Anfield however we've got to remember that this is nothing more than rumour and that doesn't make it true at all, at this moment in time at least.
