Chelsea are set to up the ante on their quest to lure Liverpool striker Fernando Torres to the club.
The Spain striker was injured in the dying minutes of the World Cup final, tearing a thigh muscle, and the Blues are set to use that as a way to get him to Stamford Bridge.
They believe they can butter Torres up by saying they will only call on him when fully fit meaning he can take the time to get back to full fitness as opposed to with Liverpool where he is required to provide a large majority of their goals.
Torres is expected to be out for up to three weeks before he can get back into training which may make Reds boss Roy Hodgson double think a potential transfer so he can bring in somebody who is ready to go for the start of the season.
