10 Facts About Milan Jovanovic

He's a Serbia international who is renowned for his lethal finishing and strong work ethic - but what do you really know about Milan Jovanovic?

1)  He is nicknamed 'le serpent' which translates as the snake.
2) He knows all about the famous Anfield atmosphere after appearing as an 87th minute substitute in Standard Liege's 1-0 extra-time defeat against the Reds during a 2008-09 Champions League qualifier.
3)  He was born on April 18, 1981 and shares a birthday with actress Hayley Mills, Casino star James Woods and former red Danny Guthrie.
4) He has already endeared himself to the red half of the city following his reaction to speculation about a potential move to Everton. He is reported to have said: "Everton aren't a big club. That club I have turned down already."
5) He isn't the first player to swap Liege for Liverpool. Back in 1990 Kenny Dalglish swooped to bring Israeli hot-shot Ronny Rosenthal in on loan and he helped inspire the Reds to an 18th league title.
6) 'Jova' is renowned for his great voice and friends have suggested he could have a career as a professional singer when he hangs up his boots.
7) He can often be heard listening to the No Smoking Orchestra, a band that were formed in the former Republic of Yugoslavia.
8) The Serbia international has identified Barcelona's Lionel Messi as the best player in the world and admits to being a huge fan of Dragan Stojkovic during his younger years.
9) His favourite film is the 1982 Serbian comedy, Tesna Koza. It tells the story of a low-level clerk struggling to make the money he needs to keep up with the demands of his family.
10) According to an interview in which he described some of his favourite pleasures in life, an ideal dinner in the Jovanovic household would consist of a Pasta-based meal followed by a nice cold Kriek - a cherry flavoured Belgian beer.
